Text message terms
Last updated October 16, 2026
Community organizations use Ascend to coordinate the services they provide. When you agree to it, the organization that works with you can send you text messages through Ascend. These terms explain that program. Ascend is operated by EverGrowth Digital Creations, Ohio.
Who texts you and why
Messages come from the organization providing your services (for example, South Street Ministries), sent from the Ascend toll-free number. They are about your services only: invitations to set up your online profile, appointment and event reminders, updates about your plan, documents and support, and replies from the staff you work with. They are never marketing, and they are never sold or shared for anyone else's marketing.
How you agree
Texting is optional and is never a condition of receiving services. You agree in one of two ways:
- You tell a staff member you want to receive texts. Before recording it, they tell you what the messages are about, that frequency varies, that message and data rates may apply, and that you can reply HELP or STOP at any time. They then record your agreement in Ascend.
- You check “It's OK to text me about my services” when you register yourself at a front-desk tablet. The same information is shown next to the box.
Frequency and cost
Message frequency varies with your services, typically a few messages a month. Message and data rates may apply, according to your mobile plan. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Help and stopping
Reply HELP for help, or ask your case manager. Reply STOP (or UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END or QUIT) to stop all texts from the number; you will receive one confirmation and nothing after it. To start again, tell a staff member at the organization you work with.
Examples
- “South Street Ministries: set up your online profile here: https://my.ascendconnects.com/activate?token=…”
- “Hi Robert, this is South Street. Reminder: job readiness workshop Monday at 10am. Reply STOP to stop.”
- “Ascend: texts about your services from your provider. Help: ascendconnects.com/sms or ask your case manager. Msg&data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.”
Privacy
Your mobile number and your agreement to receive texts are used only to send you these messages. See our privacy policy.
